47 Bieg Piastów invites you!
The fastest pace of registration in history, start and finish in a new arena, but in the old place, the return of skiers from all over the world - this is what Bieg Piastów looks like about 7 weeks before the first start. 3,500 people have already registered for the three Worldloppet events. They will ski at the beginning of March 2023 on the distances of 30 km FT and 25 and 50 km CT.
Bieg Piastów takes place in the south-western part of Poland, right next to the border with the Czech Republic and Germany. It is easy to get here from the airports in Warsaw, Wrocław, Dresden and Prague. After two years of the pandemic, racers from all over the world are returning to Bieg Piastów. There are already half a thousand of them from 22 countries on the starting lists - by far the most since 2019.
The Bieg Piastów is held on natural tracks in the forests of the Jizera Mountains. The start and finish is in Jakuszyce - the highest located district of Szklarska Poręba. This year, for the first time, the base of the competition will be the Dolnośląskie Centrum Sportu Polana Jakuszycka (Lower Silesian Sports Center Polana Jakuszycka) - a new ski and biathlon stadium with a stately building with full competition facilities - changing rooms, showers, restaurant, ski services, cabinets where you can store your clothes. You can arrive by car, bus or train. The start and finish of Bieg Piastów will be at the new stadium. The new DCS center was built in Polana Jakuszycka at the cost of PLN 291 million (about 60 milions euros) by the local government of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Registration for the Bieg Piastów is going great. The only worry is the lack of snow. The season started in December, but after two weeks the snow disappeared and won't come back. Fortunately, there is still a lot of time left until the first weekend of March 2023. OC is convinced that the snow will fall and the 47 Bieg Piastów will be held in great conditions. In an emergency, some routes may be covered with artificial snow.
