48 KGHM Bieg Piastów cancelled

We regret to inform you that due to unfavorable weather conditions, specifically lack of snow, high temperatures, rain and bad weather forecasts, we are forced to cancel the 48th KGHM Bieg Piastów Cross-Country Skiing Festival, which was to be held between February 24 and March 3, 2024. Unfortunately, natural conditions are beyond our control.

The safety of participants and the quality of the event itself are our priority, which is why we have made the difficult decision to cancel the competition.

1. Starting packages for the 48th KGHM Bieg Piastów for all distances, with start numbers and gadgets, will be available for collection in Jakuszyce on dates to be announced soon.
Competitors who will come to Jakuszyce during the canceled main competitions will be offered other ways of spending their time. We are planning running and hiking trips of various distances with a bonfire and the premiere of a film about Julian Gozdowski. We will inform you about the details soon.

3. We offer everyone who registered for the 48th KGHM Bieg Piastów Cross-Country Skiing Festival a discount on the entry fee for Bieg Piastów in 2025. The amount of the discount (at least 50 percent) will be announced in the coming days. We kindly ask you to accept this proposal with understanding, as we have already incurred approximately 80 percent of the organizational costs.

4. If you need a stamp for your Worldloppet passport, you will receive it provided that you cover at least half of the appropriate distance on skis near Jakuszyce, e.g. in the Czech Republic, and register this race via GPS. Details of this solution, after consultation with Wordloppet, will be provided soon. We apologize for any problems resulting from the cancellation of the competition. This is a very difficult and painful decision for us. We ask for your understanding.
